Once the taught part is finished, you do supervised hands-on practice in our centres with real clients. That’s where you learn the trade: welcoming, assessing, treating, and seeing off a person who has paid for their session. No purely online course gives you this.

The same advanced syllabus we teach on weekdays — 17 units covering real anatomy (musculoskeletal system, body systems, physiology), palpation, clinical assessment, basic and advanced techniques, massage by body region, pathologies and referral, sports massage, complementary techniques, special populations, professional management, and first aid. No cutting corners just because it’s a weekend.

📜 Certificate with real accredited hours

We don’t hand out diplomas for free. The learning platform measures your real study time online and we keep attendance records for the in-person sessions. The certificate —verifiable by code— reflects the hours you have genuinely completed. That’s what makes it credible to a client, a centre or a hotel.

1. Fundamentals, ethics and the professional framework — what massage therapy is and isn’t, contraindications, red flags.
2. Hygiene, treatment room, ergonomics and self-care for the therapist — so you can last in the profession without injuring yourself.
3. Anatomy of the musculoskeletal system — osteology, arthrology, myology, biomechanics.
4. Anatomy of body systems and applied physiology — nervous, cardiovascular, lymphatic, pain, inflammation, stress.
5. Palpatory anatomy — locating each structure on the real body.
6. Client assessment — case history, tests, reasoning, referral criteria.
7. Basic and advanced manual techniques — effleurage, petrissage, friction, myofascial work, trigger points, mobilisations.
8. Massage by body region — head and neck, shoulder, upper back, lower back, lower limbs, foot, abdomen.
9. Functional pathologies and referral — recognising, adapting and knowing when not to work.
10. Sports massage, complementary techniques and special populations.
11. Professional management and first aid — legal matters, insurance, pricing, basic CPR.
12. Supervised hands-on practice in a working centre and final project.

Full transparency: in Spain, massage therapy is not an officially regulated or government-certified qualification (it’s not vocational training nor a healthcare degree). This course gives you the technique, the anatomy, the confidence and the professional judgement; to work as self-employed you’ll need to register as self-employed and take out your own public liability insurance — we explain all of this inside the course. We don’t promise to be what we’re not, and that’s exactly why what we do offer is worth it.

Is it the same course as the weekday version?

Yes, exactly the same syllabus, the same 300 total hours, the same teaching staff, the same practice and the same certificate. Only the schedule format changes: instead of 2 weekday sessions of 4 hours, it’s one weekend day of 8 hours (with a lunch break). Designed for those who can’t attend during working hours.

Does this course qualify you to work as a physiotherapist?

No. Physiotherapy is a regulated healthcare profession requiring a university degree and professional registration. Massage therapy is a non-regulated wellness training: you learn manual technique with professional judgement, but you don’t diagnose or treat pathologies. You can work in wellness centres, hotels and spas, or open your own practice as a massage therapist.

How many hours of real practice are there?

Around 200 hours are dedicated to hands-on work: roughly 136 in the classroom with the teacher’s correction, plus 64 hours of supervised hands-on practice with real clients in a working centre. It’s probably the course with the most practice on real clients in Málaga.

Do you have a job placement service or agreements with hotels?

We don’t have a formal «job placement service» or «signed agreements» with hotels (other centres say they do and it isn’t true — we don’t want to do the same). What we do have: the Harmony Sanctuary centres have operated in Málaga, Torremolinos and Fuengirola for years, with a genuine relationship with the local hotel sector. When an opportunity comes up and we consider a student ready, we introduce them. That’s honesty, not marketing.

What are the hours for each class day?

A full 8-hour day, with a lunch break: morning from 10:00 to 14:00 and afternoon from 15:00 to 19:00. A single weekend day (whichever you choose when you enrol, Saturday or Sunday).

What do I need to attend?

Comfortable short-sleeved clothing, two large towels, a notebook and enthusiasm. The massage oil, the couch and all the technical equipment are provided by us. Plus a computer or phone with internet access for the online part.

What happens if I miss a weekend?

You can make up individual classes with the other weekend group (if there’s a place). To obtain the certificate with real hours, you need to attend at least 85% of the in-person classes.

Where are the classes held?

At our Málaga centre, at Calle Strachan 4, 5º Derecha (29015). The practice in a working centre takes place at the Harmony Sanctuary centres in Málaga, Torremolinos and Fuengirola, subject to availability.
